Dalcroze Eurhythmics with Russian Overtones. A study of phrasing with mixed meter and irregular phrase lengths, all using Russian folk songs, proverbs, and cultural lore. Participants will experience the three aspects of Dalcroze (Eurhythmics, Solfège, Improvisation).
Dalcroze Eurhythmics, a form of music and movement training, is closely allied to the Orff Schulwerk in attitude and aesthetic. The Russian element of this lesson will demonstrate how arts and culture can be integrated into music and movement learning.
