Dalcroze with a Russian accent!

     Participants will experience the 3 aspects of Dalcroze (Eurhythmics, Solfège, Improvisation) through a Russian folk music lens.  We will use collaborative music and movement games to explore Russian culture.  We work with proverbs to connect words with rhythms, meaning with inflection.  We’ll touch on folk tales, folk song, folk dance and body percussion.  These activities will demonstrate how integrating the arts with other disciplines can enhance learning and self-directed behavior.  Participants will be able to identify, model, and facilitate elements of good listening and deep attention.
